टेबल टेनिस : शरत कमल-मनिका बत्रा को मिला ओलंपिक कोटा

स्पोर्ट्स डेस्क : एशियाई ओलंपिक क्वालीफिकेशन टूर्नामेंट के फाइनल में शनिवार को भारत के अचंता शरत कमल और मनिका बत्रा की जोड़ी ने कोरिया के सांग सु ली और जिही जनियोन की जोड़ी को 4-2 से मात देकर मिक्स डबल्स टेबल टेनिस में ओलंपिक कोटा हासिल कर लिया.

वर्ष 2018 एशियाई खेलों की कांस्य पदक चैंपियन जोड़ी ने दो सेट से पिछड़ने के बाद लौटे और दुनिया की आठवें नंबर की जोड़ी को फाइनल में 8-11 6-11 11-5 11-6 13-11 11-8 से हराया.

शरत और मनिका पहले ही सिंगल्स वर्ग में कोटा हासिल कर चुके है और अब दोनों इस वर्ष 23 जुलाई से आठ अगस्त तक खेले जाने वाले टोक्यो में बतौर जोड़ीदार खेलेंगे.

शुक्रवार को शरत और मनिका ने सिंगापुर के कोएन पांग यियू एन को लिन ये को सेमीफाइनल में 4-2 से हारकर फाइनल में एंट्री ली थी. इससे पहले चार भारतीय टेबल टेनिस प्लेयर्स ने टोक्यो ओलंपिक के लिये एकल वर्ग में शरत और मनिका सहित जी साथियान और सुर्तिथा मुखर्जी ने क्वालीफाई किया था.

साथियान और सुर्तिथा दक्षिण एशियाई ग्रुप के अपने अपने वर्गों में चैंपियन रहे थे वही शरत और मनिका ने दूसरे पायदान पर काबिज सर्वश्रेष्ठ रैंकिंग के प्लेयर के दम पर टोक्यो का टिकट हासिल किया.
