नई दिल्ली : वाराणसी के कोतवाली थाना क्षेत्र के गाय घाट इलाके में एक पुजारी ने मां काली के साक्षात दर्शन न मिलने से व्यथित होकर आत्महत्या कर ली. घटना सोमवार रात की है, जब पुजारी ने मां काली की आराधना के दौरान अपना गला धारदार कटर से रेत लिया. सूचना पर पहुंची पुलिस ने शव को कब्जे में लेकर पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेज दिया।
जानकारी के मुताबिक, मृतक पुजारी अपनी पत्नी और बच्चों के साथ किराए के मकान में रहता था. पुजारी पिछले 24 घंटे से मां काली के आव्हान और साधना कर रहा था. 24 घंटे बाद भी जब मां के साक्षात दर्शन नहीं हुए, तो हताशा में उसने आत्महत्या कर ली. घटना के समय पुजारी की पत्नी घर पर ही थी. जब उसने पुजारी को लहूलुहान हालत में देखा, तो तुरंत उसे अस्पताल पहुंचाया. मगर, डॉक्टरों ने पुजारी को मृत घोषित कर दिया।
घटना की सूचना पर पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची. प्रारंभिक जांच में पता चला है कि पुजारी धार्मिक आस्था से अत्यधिक प्रभावित था और उसने मां काली के दर्शन के लिए गहन साधना की थी. पुलिस ने कहा कि यह आत्महत्या का मामला प्रतीत होता है और अन्य कोणों से भी जांच की जा रही है।
